Marta Shpak was thrilled to represent Ukraine during Toronto’s Ukrainian Independence Day celebrations — one of the most important days for
Ukrainians!

Canada has one of the biggest Ukrainian communities in the world, outside of Ukraine. That’s why there were a lots of spectators in Centennial Park. Before the concert, a prayer service was held and greetings were extended by the honoured guests at this event, including political organizations in Canada and Ukrainian delegation from US. Then the Honored Artist of Ukraine Marta Shpak greeted Ukrainians in song during a celebratory concert. Marta’s performance was complemented by the “Ukraina” Ensemble from Toronto. This group is led by Valeriy and Lesya Movtchan and presents Ukrainian dance culture in a very professional manner around the world. It is a big honour for Marta Shpak to colaborate with them in Canada. The concert also featured dance performances by other dance ensembles from Toronto such as “Barvinok”, “Vesnyanka”, and “Desna”. The Ukrainian marching band “Baturyn” and the children’s “Studia Rezonanse” also performed.

Marta Shpak sincerely thanks the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for the invitation and opportunity to perform at such a wonderful event. Special thanks also to Anna Kysil – the Head of the Ukrainian international organization “The 4th Wave” as well as to the Distinguished Artistic Director of “Ukraine” Valeriy and Lesya Movtchan!

“I will never forget this amazing Ukrainian concert in Toronto! God bless You All!” (Marta Shpak)
